who isthis intensive for?

More and more companies are looking for designers who can think beyond individual screens and take ownership of an entire design system — including tokens, components, documentation, and basic governance. The AI for Design Tokens and Components intensive is for those who already work with components in Figma and want to learn how to build token architecture, generate component specifications, and audit a library with AI.

The intensive is suitable both for those already working with design systems in Figma — tokens, components, variants, Auto Layout, styles, and variables — and for Product/UI/UX designers who plan to grow into a Design System Designer role. In 3 days, you will go through the complete workflow: tokens, components, documentation, and auditing — with AI assisting on the tasks that usually take the most time: generating and validating tokens, building component specifications, drafting documentation, and auditing a library.

01

those who have a library with duplicates and hardcoded values and want to bring their tokens to a single standard

You will learn to run an AI-powered library audit, identify duplicates and out-of-sync tokens, and bring components to a functional, documented state.

02

those who work as a UI/UX or Product Designer and want to grow into a Design System Designer role

You will understand token architecture, the principles of component systems, and the basics of governance - and gain a concrete case for moving to a more systematic level of work.

03

those who lead a team and want to introduce AI into design processes without compromising quality

You will understand which design system tasks AI can take on - generation, auditing, and documentation - and get a plan for gradually introducing an AI-assisted approach within your team.

04

those who have to repeatedly explain colors and spacing in the absence of tokens

You will learn the 3-tier token model, learn to write structured prompts for Claude, and see how token names map to code through Figma variables.

skills
you will master

hard skills

  • token architecture: the 3-tier global / semantic / component model, naming conventions, W3C Design Tokens format
  • setting up modes: light/dark and brand/region through semantic tokens
  • prompt engineering for design system tasks: role, context, constraints, format, and example
  • setting up project context for AI: CLAUDE.md and linking Figma variables to code syntax
  • generating and validating tokens with Claude and checking them in Tokens Studio
  • creating a component specification (variants, states, props, token usage) and building the component in Figma
  • AI-powered library refactoring: identifying duplicates, detached instances, and token drift
  • generating TOKENS.md and COMPONENT.md
  • documentation with AI based on your own system
  • building a repeatable audit framework: token consistency, component coverage, drift, and naming

soft skills

  • decision-making: when to trust AI output and when to rely on design judgment
  • structured reasoning for design decisions
  • communicating changes within a team: change notes explaining what was fixed and why
  • gradually introducing AI practices within a team
  • a basic understanding of governance: who adds tokens/components, how to version them, and how to keep documentation in sync

software skills

  • FigmaFigma

interface design, prototyping, and real-time team collaboration

  • ClaudeClaude

AI assistant for text creation, data analysis, and workflow optimization

  • Figma MCPFigma MCP

a connector that lets Claude read and work with your Figma files, frames, and components directly from the conversation, without you needing to switch apps.

  • Tokens StudioTokens Studio

a Figma plugin that lets teams define, manage, and sync design tokens — like colors, spacing, and typography — as a single source of truth shared between designers and developers.

studying on the AI for Design Tokens & Components

Before the workshop starts, we open access to the learning platform and Slack so you can meet your curator and the group. There you'll find the workshop program, the webinar schedule, and everything you need to get started, so you walk into day one prepared.

01

live sessions

Learning happens online, through the learning platform, video lectures, and live sessions with a curator in a virtual classroom. At each session, we work through the material together, review practical assignments, and answer questions.Between sessions, you get support in Slack.

02

practice

Learning is built around practice. You work through assignments step by step, guided by a curator.By the end, you have a set of completed assignments that show your approach, your thinking, and your first professional decisions.

03

certificate of completion

After finishing the workshop, you receive a Projector certificate. It confirms that you completed the full learning path and finished the assignments.Students who show a high level of performance receive a certificate with distinction.

04

community and networking.

After graduating, you become part of the Projector Global Community. It's an international community of creative and tech professionals: meetups, events, shared experience, and new connections. An environment that supports you, keeps you motivated, and helps you keep moving forward

your professional path

A workshop isn't the finish line, it's part of your professional path.We help you keep going: through other courses, job openings at LEZO, mentorship, and the Projector Library. You choose the direction and the pace, and we point out the possible next steps and support you along the way.

philosophy of learning

01

Practicult

→ We have a cult of practice: to get results, you do homework under personal curator mentorship and work on course projects. → this is not theory or watching video lectures. This is developing real skills and portfolio according to the principle «everything as in real life».

02

Feedback

→ At Projector it's ok to make mistakes. You won't get grades for it, but will be advised how to do better. Each student receives a huge amount of feedback. → you are not left alone and get warm support from curator and groupmates.
